Cops in Texas apprehended a ‘reckless driver’ in a Walmart parking lot, only to discover it was a dog behind the wheel.
The cute pooch had been left in the car while his owners did some shopping back in December 2022.
However, the dog somehow ended up getting into the driving seat and took off – hitting two vehicles in the process.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident but there was some minor damage to the cars.

The dog hit two cars before he was stopped
While most dogs enjoy nothing more than taking a spin in the car and poking their head out of the window – so much so that Anant Ambani even bought his dog ‘Happy’ its very own car: a Mercedes G400d, no less.
But while most dogs are happy enough being passengers, it seems this little pooch in Texas decided he wanted to give driving a shot.
Kilgore Police Department shared the bizarre story online, noting that while it sounded far-fetched, the dog did have a ‘guilty’ look on his adorable face.
“KPD apprehended a reckless driver today after he ran into two cars in the parking lot Walmart,” the force wrote on Facebook.
“Thankfully no one was injured in this crash.
“One of the victims saw the suspect barreling down on him but couldn’t get out of the way.
“He was shocked to see the driver was a dog!
“Yep, the pooch was actually behind the wheel when the crash occurred.”
Police think they know how the car was started
Cops went on to say that it appeared the pooch had ‘got a little antsy and bounced around the cab setting this truck in motion’.
The car’s steering column had sustained some damage prior to the incident, leading police to believe that’s how the dog was able to get the car started.
Cops went on to say that the his leash may have got caught on the emergency brake and released it.
“It doesn’t sound feasible but an eyewitness saw the pooch behind the wheel just before the crash,” the statement added. “He certainly has a guilty look on his face.”
