An extremely talented 80-year-old man built this neat campervan with a genius layout and some really cool details.
The octogenarian completely transformed a 2003 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter T1N into a sweet living space.
Outwardly, the campervan still resembles the passenger van it once was, but inside is a whole other story.
The roomy interior has just about everything you’d need from a campervan and makes excellent use of all the available space.

The campervan has a genius design layout
There are plenty of talented folks out there who have turned their hand to a bit of DIY to create their dream campervan, including this couple from the US who have traveled the world in theirs, and this couple who gutted an old school bus to make an off-grid home.
Meanwhile, 80-year-old Tom recently appeared on the CheapRVliving YouTube channel, when he revealed how he turned an ordinary-looking Mercedes-Benz Sprinter into a truly unique home-from-home.
To make the most of the space inside, Tom has removed the wall between the driver’s cabin and the living space and fitted some swiveling bases to the driver and passenger seats which allows him to spin them around into the living area where there’s a swivelling table.
See, we told you this was a smart design.
Its 80-year-old designer made clever use of space
In the main living area, there’s a long couch that can easily be converted into a bed thanks to some jack knife bed brackets and has some cleverly concealed storage space underneath.
On the opposite side, there’s an L-shaped counter that has a cabinet housing a custom-made composting toilet inside.
Removing the counter’s top panel reveals a single–burner induction stove and a sink with a handy folding faucet and plenty of room to prepare food. The ‘kitchen’ is also home to a small multicooker and fridge.
Incredibly, the campervan even has its own indoor shower that Tom made himself out of a folding dog bath, pump, and shower head.
The TARDIS-like camper also has even more storage space blocked off at the back, where Tom can store various tools, cords, and even a ladder.
Seriously impressive stuff.
