This abandoned Chevy Impala was left parked in storage with a full tank of gas for 36 years.
The owner of the car parked up in a garage in 1988 but forgot to empty the tank.
So, the first task on the list was to clean that up.
However, when the seller attempted to start the engine, something unexpected happened.

Abandoned Chevy Impala with a full tank of gas
Despite being kept in storage for more than three decades, the Chevy Impala is still in quite good condition.
According to the eBay post, after finding it the seller attempted to start the car.
Surprisingly – even after being in storage for 36 years – the Impala started up straight away.
According to the seller, the car even moves, so you can get it on a trailer for shipping to another garage.
You would expect the engine to be clogged up after so many years, but it seems as if that’s not the case.
Although the condition of this 1969 Chevy Impala is not that impressive, it still has the potential to be restored, just like this car that went from being a rust bucket to a custom beauty.
Good condition
Fortunately, it still features the original paint with just a few touch-ups in places.
The car even comes with an original 350 cubic-inch V8 engine installed by Chevrolet, producing 350 horsepower.
From the photos, it doesn’t look like the car has been heavily altered, so someone might be able to do a restoration to factory specifications.
In the not-too-distant past we have seen a few abandoned Chevy Impalas get restored to their former glory and returned to the streets.
Hopefully, someone can do the same for this car right here.
The only damage to the car is due to rusting on the fenders and the quarter panels.
However, the floors and the trunk pan are ‘all solid and in good condition.’
So, if anyone out there is looking for a good restoration project for $10,000, they can grab this car over on eBay.
