The new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante sets a new record for the brand

This is the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, the long-awaited convertible variant of Aston’s elite supercar.

It’s powered by an 823-horsepower twin-turbo V12, which gives it a top speed of 214mph.

This makes it the fastest series production convertible Aston Martin has ever made.

Production is limited to 1,000 units per year, but with an interesting twist.

The fastest production convertible ever made by Aston Martin

The Vanquish is one of the most iconic Astons ever built, partly because we associate it with the James Bond saga.

Aston discontinued the old Vanquish in 2018, and then, for some reason, the British automaker waited about six years to launch a replacement.

In 2024, back when the coupe variant was unveiled, Aston also promised a convertible version, which Aston calls ‘Volante, ‘ and here it is.

It uses the same 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 as the coupe, which now delivers 823 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.

According to Aston Martin, it does 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, and the top speed is 214mph, which makes it the fastest production convertible ever built by Aston.

Another thing worth noting is the top only takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close, something that can be done at speeds of up to 31mph.

Inside, you’ll find the same interior as the coupe, with drive modes and two 10.3-inch digital displays.

You also have a button for the active exhaust system, which, in a convertible with a V12, is definitely good news.

Production is limited, but with an interesting twist

Aston says only around 1,000 units will be built every year between the coupe and the Volante.

Interestingly, this would, in theory, make the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante a bit easier to get than previous models.

For reference, Aston Martin has so far only built 2,589 examples in total.

So, assuming a lifespan for the new Vanquish of at least four or five years, we’d be looking at 4,000-5,000 Vanquish vehicles, which is great.

The price tag hasn’t been revealed yet, but we it’ll likely be north of $500,000.
