This father and son duo bought two worse-for-wear Dodge trucks over 2,000 miles from where they live in Arizona and decided to see if they could withstand the three-day drive back to Michigan without any work.
It’s no secret that Dodge trucks are some of the best ever made.
But it is pretty common to find some that have been battered and bruised after years of service.
These two in particular, from Dowagiac, Michigan, and South Bend, Indiana respectively, have seen many better days, but would they survive another 2,000 miles back to Tucson, Arizona?

Two battered Dodge trucks attempt barbaric 2,000-mile road trip
For some reason, content creators love to push old, broken cars to their limits in cross-America road trips.
One man previously hauled a 1949 Willys Wagon across the states in a 2,164-mile slog.
This time, YouTube father and son pair Rick and Travis attempted to bring two ’95 and ’97 Dodge Hummings across the country, and both were in very bad shape.
The duo claimed they would be the first to make such a trip in disastrous cars like this, and considering that one man previously failed a circuit half the size of this in a Ford Super Duty F350 and a Typhoon, this looked to be a tall order.
How about the trucks then…
Well, they were awful.

The first, the ’95 model, was leaking profoundly, had no oil in its engine, was missing its rear brakes, had a misaligned steering wheel, no radio, and was rusting away by the mile.
The second, the younger ’97 model, was equally as shot.
The battery faced issues starting, and the tires were busted.

Did they stand a chance of making it from Michigan to Arizona?
Color us shocked, they were dreadful and faced issues almost instantly.
They were forced to pull over on multiple occasions to fix broken torque converter bolts and struggled with power and electrics the entire way.
However, in what can only be described as a miracle, these plucky deaths-door trucks managed to roll up the drive back in Arizona.

Thankfully so, as the son, Travis, arrived home a few hours before his wife’s 20-week pregnancy scan where they found out they were expecting a baby girl.
If those Dodge Hummings made any more hiccups, he may have missed it.
While they may not be the best – nor the biggest – Dodge trucks in history, the two cars could be proud of each other.
