Ferrari F40 with studded tires tears up a frozen lake

  • The Ferrari F40 is, without question, one of the most impressive cars ever made
  • The 1980s icon has been considered car royalty from the day it was released
  • Now, a car influencer has decided to test it on a different terrain – ice

The Ferrari F40 is, without question, one of the most incredible supercars ever made.

The Pininfarina designed, Maranello-engineered, 2.9 litre twin-turbo powered car is a thing of legend.

In fact, the Ferrari F40 was the last car ever to be personally approved by Enzo Ferrari himself and Nicola Materazzi, Ferrari’s chief engineer, personally pushed to have this car made.

So, naturally, given that the legendary F40 has conquered the tarmac, the next step is to conquer the…ice?

Ferrari F40 on ice: F40 braves frozen lake on studded tires

An automotive influencer, who goes by the name of Supercar Ron, recently shared that he had a Ferrari F40.

Impressive enough in its own right, especially considering that since its release in 1987, many consider it to be among the best Ferraris ever made.

What was even more interesting (and confusing), was that the image he shared included his silver F40 with studded winter tires.

Turns out, that’s exactly what Supercar Ron did.

In a video uploaded to social media, Ron showed off his silver F40 on a frozen lake.

“The moment you’ve all been waiting for … F40 ON ICE,” he said.

He then proceeded to perform several doughnuts on the ice.

Given the lack of traction on a surface like ice, spectacular slides tend to become much more commonplace.

Supercar Ron got the tick of approval from his fans.

“Why anyone would ever take a car like that and abuse it is beyond me… DO IT AGAIN,” one said.

“Finally an F40 actually being driven. I don’t know about the car’s value, but it should be criminal to own cars like these and hide them away in some warehouse,” a second said.

Despite how unusual it is to see a legendary F40 (more so on…ice), it’s great to see a legendary car being enjoyed and displayed.

It sure beats hiding such a special vehicle away behind glass.
