A German couple with big dreams and an even bigger expedition vehicle named ‘Frank the Tank’ is traveling the world in style.

Fabian and Isabela, along with their son Matheo and two adorable dogs, Uni and Basco, spent nearly four years living on the road.

Their custom-built 4×4 truck allowed them constant flexibility but with the practicality and comfort of an actual house.

The truck was packed with some nifty inclusions too.

German couple travel in their expedition vehicle called Frank the Tank

The German couple has truly mastered the art of living small while exploring big.

Their 4X4 expedition vehicle has all the features and amenities that one looks for in their house.

To start with, they’ve got a leather couch which is something you’d only expect to find in a legit house.

Then comes the slide-out Samsung smart TV in the living room – a full size tv that can be hidden away when not used.

The family documented their trip with Frank the Tank on their YouTube channel, Live and Give 4X4, in which they revealed every carefully planned out detail of the truck.

Just like this Australian couple who transformed a classic Coca-Cola truck into a cozy home on wheels, Frank the Tank had a lot going on inside.

A 3kg washing machine kept their clothes fresh, while a slide-out table seated up to six people, ideal for family meals or friends they met on the road.

Behind the couch, clever storage compartments held essentials, like clothes and other utilities.

A perfect RV with home-like amenities

Because the couple was traveling with kids, safety was a huge priority.

They installed double glass windows for extra protection and blackout shades.

When it came to sleeping, the area boasted a spacious 1.5m x 2m bed.

They even added a roof hatch for stargazing.

Little Matheo’s bunk was designed with safety in mind, complete with stairs he was learning to use.

The kitchen was a chef’s dream, with an induction stove, a water filter, spice drawers, and even a combo oven-microwave for baking.

With 800 liters of water storage, Fabian and Isabela could stay on the road for as long as they wanted.

While Frank the Tank’s certainly impressive, there are a lot of epic vehicles out there that have been transformed for off-road living.

Take this old school bus for example – it was gutted and turned into a brilliant off-grid home.
