Lost ultra-rare Ferrari suspected hidden in abandoned Italian garage

The Italian carmaker only made 26 examples of this ultra-rare Ferrari 375 MM — while 25 of them are accounted for, one remains missing.

Built during the 1950s, the 375 MM is one of the most sought-after V12-powered race cars of its era.

The missing Ferrari 375 MM

Dottore Enrico Wax was the one and only owner of the missing Ferrari 375 MM.

Wax had a massive car collection, but no one had seen his V12 racing car since the 1950s.

Thanks to Barchetta’s registry, we know that the car competed in at least one event in 1953.

However, it hasn’t been seen since then.

Unlike the other 25 models, the missing 375 MM also featured metallic blue exterior paint, a beige interior, and metal bumpers.

The owner of the missing car

Wax, an Italian businessman, was part of Enzo’s close friends’ circle.

He also bought multiple cars from the man himself and sometimes imported then-rare goodies for him.

If Wax sold the missing Ferrari 375 MM, it would have made the global news.

However, since the car has not been seen since the 1950s, it is likely sitting in a forgotten garage in Italy.

The car featured a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V12 producing 340 horsepower.

It was one of the fastest road cars of its era.

If found, it would certainly be one of the most valuable barn finds ever.

Wax was a notable collector and reportedly owned many ultra-rare cars.

It is also possible that the missing Ferrari 375 MM has simply been forgotten about by its owner.

It would likely still be in its original condition, with just a little bit of restoration needed.
