A man called Jerry Heasley once received an email that led to an incredible discovery of abandoned classic Mustang cars.

That email was from Thad Landaiche, a Mustang collector based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

When Jerry opened it, he was stunned by what he saw – photos of Mustangs abandoned deep in the woods of Louisiana.

56 classic Mustang cars found in Louisiana

The cars were in such a bad condition that trees had even started growing through some of them.

It was clear these Mustangs had been left to decay for a long time.

The find was so extraordinary that Jerry covered it in a video on his YouTube channel.

In total, 56 classic Mustangs were found in the woods, but the big question here was – how did they end up like that?

It turns out that 25 years ago, an auto garage in Louisiana closed down, leaving behind a large collection of Mustangs.

These classic cars, which ranged from 1965 to 1973, were simply abandoned in the woods behind the garage.

When car enthusiasts nearby discovered them, it astonished everyone.

Eventually, the property was purchased, and the new owner decided to pull the Mustangs out of the woods.

The cars are rescued but they are unrecoverable

Along with the Mustangs, there were also some old pickup trucks and other vehicles, but none of them were in recoverable shape.

After 25 years of exposure to the elements, the damage was severe.

However, despite their condition, the decision was made to auction the cars instead of crushing them.

The discovery of these Mustangs is similar to another famous find – an abandoned museum with 200 classic cars.

However, unlike the museum cars, which were still in decent shape, the Mustangs in the woods were in really bad condition.

Seeing these classic Mustang cars stacked outside the garage, people were reminded of the time when these cars were at their peak.

It’s a sad sight but an interesting tale.
