No matter what side of the Rat Rod fence you sit on, this behemoth 900HP beast is a creation that deserves everyone’s applause.

Rat Rods are historically divisive. They’re the Adam Sandler of the car world – not the best dressed, but by God they’ll blow you away with what’s inside.

The unfinished aesthetic left many onlookers bemused by the rusty garbage. But the vehicles do emit a certain mechanical beauty.

With craftsmanship being valued over appearance, this particular Rat Rod is being hailed for its masterful build.

This 1932 Ford is now a 900HP Rat Rod monster

Many Rat Rod cars fly under the radar, but every now and again a truly magnificent creation will appear.

This 1947 Ford rebuild is one of them.

But, as highlighted on the Autotopia LA YouTube channel, this ‘nasty’ 900HP Rat Rod is certainly one of the most fearsome vehicles in its category.

Created by car enthusiast Griffin Steinfeld, the rod uses a 1932 Ford Model B body, a 565 cubic-inch big-block Chevy engine, and a 1471 blower from Don Schumacher Racing to crank out a whopping 900HP.

That’s the same amount of power as a Brabus Rocket 900 R and a McLaren P1. And it’s more than the Hennessy Ford Mustang Super Venom GT.

After it was originally sketched out by Steinfeld, the build took 10 months to create.

The rustic old-school body, weighing just 2,100 pounds, has also been given a wealth of modern mechanics.

Traction control, cylinder blending, and more all contribute to making this Rat Rod a fierce racer.

The Rat Rod has yet to be track-tried, meaning its top speed is still unknown.

But a test drive on a small strip showcases how blisteringly quick it can be, breaking 60MPH in next to no time.

Moving forward, the Rat Rod will be given the green light to drag race, while Steinfeld will continue to optimize the traction and fuel system.

Still, for its first major outing, this car is quite an extraordinary machine.

Now that’s how you reinvigorate a 1930s Ford – much like the Roadster voted the Most Beautiful car in California.
