Third-generation Cessna Citation business jets are set to change the aviation industry.

While we mere mortals can only dream about flying in a business jet someday, it is still nice to admire these incredible pieces of engineering.

If you are not familiar with the legendary Cessna Citation lineup, then let me tell you that they are some of the best business jets in the world.

Since 1969, the lineup has sold over 8,000 units, making it quite successful in the industry.

New Cessna Citation business jets

These jets are designed and manufactured by Textron Aviation.

Only recently the company announced its next generation of light business jets.

The lineup includes — the Cessna Citation M2 Gen3, CJ3 Gen3, and CJ4 Gen3.

These Cessna Citation business jets will bring a new flying experience for both pilots and passengers.

Based on the Garmin G3000 Prime avionics suite, flying these jets is more or less of a breeze.

However, the first jet is still a few years away, with the top-of-the-range Citation CJ4 Gen3 coming in 2026.

Features

All three new Cessna Citation business jets will come with an Emergency Autoland feature.

This feature will automatically activate if the pilot is inactive for too long or doesn’t respond to responsiveness checks.

Once it has been determined the pilot is unable to fly, it will automatically stabilize the aircraft and start talking to air traffic control.

After that, it will begin a descent toward the nearest airport where it will initiate the landing by itself – pretty smart.

All three jets are perfect for corporate, charter, or private use.

The M2 Gen3 and CJ3 Gen3 Cessna Citation business jets are set to release in 2027.

However, the top-of-the-line CJ4 Gen3 seems to have received the most impressive upgrades.
