Two Ferraris worth more than half a million dollars have been found in a shipping container around 180 miles from where they were initially stolen in New York.

Police found the supercars in a shipping container behind a warehouse in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The two stolen cars, a 2018 Ferrari GTC Lusso, and a 2016 Ferrari 488 Spider were collectively worth more than $600,000.

Fortunately, one Ferrari had a hidden GPS tracking device that allowed the police to locate the cars.

Stolen Ferraris mysteriously found in a shipping container

Ferraris like these are often a target for robbers.

Remember the most famous stolen Ferrari, an F512M Testarossa that belonged to an F1 driver?

Surprisingly, the supercar was stolen during the San Marino Grand Prix in April 1995 but was found in London almost three decades after it was stolen.

Luckily in this case, the two Ferraris were found a lot quicker.

According to the owner, the robbers ‘broke into the garage and just drove the cars right out’.

“[I] notified the authorities, and they found the cars in like a matter of days,” he said.

Failed robbery

The owner of the property where the shipping containers were found also said he had nothing to do with the stolen Ferraris.

According to him, containers are often parked near the building without his consent.

The owner of the stolen Ferraris got off lucky because other than a few scratches, his supercars were undamaged.

Thankfully, the police found the cars rather quickly, as in some cases it takes quite a few years to track down stolen cars like this Ferrari F40 owner who reunited with his supercar after 24 years.

It’s not the first time we have seen a failed robbery.

In one funny incident, three would-be car thieves tried to steal a Porsche.

But they stalled it twice and eventually gave up because they couldn’t drive a manual.
