After spending 30 years abandoned in a shipping container, one Chevrolet Nova has been immediately bought and made to see the light of day again.

Vintage Chevys seem to crop up in all sorts of places.

Like spiders in dark cracks, an empty barn or shipping container in America is quite likely housing an abandoned Chevy.

This time though, a lost-in-time Nova has been found parked up for 30 years, and the owner hopes to get it back up and running soon.

Abandoned Chevrolet Nova found after 30 years in a shipping container

Chevrolet Nova cars are no strangers to passing the test of time. One ’65 Nova that had been parked up since 1983 was discovered earlier this year in an impressive state, although a custom engine might have been needed.

But this latest tale saw a Chevy Nova be found without moving for 30 years, as its previous owner had boxed it up into a shipping container after being involved in a collision.

The tan-colored Nova was reportedly involved in a T-bone collision which saw one door get replaced (fixed with an off-color black replacement) and one leather seat suffer quite some damage.

But for the most part, this lost-in-time superNova was in rather fine condition.

The old Chevy seems to have relatively decent engine performance too, and while it wasn’t yet road-ready in this reveal, the new owner over at Aldan American revealed that the engine does start.

Unfortunately, this car was never fixed in its condition in the ’90s as the owner reportedly passed away and the car was left with nobody to give it some TLC.

The car wasn’t in the worst condition that we’ve ever seen though. In fact, it is significantly better than the 1963 Chevy SS that was found rotting in Montana.

Chevy Nova ‘Grandma-mobile’ pledged for revival

The new owner, albeit pleased with his find, wasn’t thrilled by the job at hand to get this ‘grandma-mobile’ on the road. But, he pledged to get it running again.

“It’s got an automatic transmission, almost like a grandma-mobile. But it’s growing on me,” he said.

“What the game plan is, we’re going to take this car, go through all of the original suspension, put a bolt-on performance upgrade on, and build it up.”

However, the original upload is now over one year old, and Aldan American has yet to share its progress and finished article. Hopefully, it is still under development and it will see the road again soon.

Previous Chevy Nova restoration stories haven’t quite worked out, with one 35-year-long project having died a painful death.

Still, this once-abandoned Chevrolet Nova has a promising future and could soon be joining other vintage collections.
