In what might be the coolest find of the year, three classic cars dating back to the 1940s and 50s have been found in an American mansion.

While many thousands of vintage American cars stay locked up gathering dust, most are found in barns or restored in collections.

But not these time capsules.

After peeking inside an abandoned mansion, this American man found some iconic cars that would be worth a small fortune.

American man finds three classic cars in abandoned mansion

Mansions scarcely get abandoned, with the expensive real estate being a prize possession for its owner.

But this derelict house was doing what many barns around the States do best, serving as cover to hide some of the most incredible vintage cars the country has to offer.

This time, one man has found three coupes dating back to the 1940s.

YouTuber RangerRickTV uploaded a tour of this creepy mansion, but while ghosts and ghouls were too shy to come out – except some Halloween spooks – Thunderbirds, Chevys, and Cadillacs arrived at the party.

The first car to be found was a Ford Thunderbird.

A scan of Google Lens predicted that this was a 1964 model, but components such as the front grille suggest this was a second-gen car that was produced between 1958 and 1960.

The car was in great shape aside from its blanket of dust, which was to be expected.

Next up was a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle, which was parked up alongside the best of the bunch in a Cadillac Series 62, which appeared to be an antiquity from the WWII era.

The Chevelle was a deep blue hue and was found to have had quite some work done to it, effectively becoming a ‘hot rod’ with its replacement 7.4 liter V8 three-speed automatic engine.

As for the older Cadillac, its date could be anywhere between 1940-43 and 1946-7 (production halted as the US entered WWII).

All three cars appeared to be in fine condition, preserved in the mansion for decades.

According to the YouTuber, an elderly couple once lived here and the children had moved away, leaving it to become overgrown and abandoned for years.

As for the abandoned classic cars and the mansion, the future is unknown. Presumably, the estate and vehicles are still owned by the family but have been left to the elements.

While Thunderbirds and Chevy restorations are not rare, seeing that 40s Cadillac back on the road would be a joy to behold.
