The Audi Grandsphere concept was designed as a ‘private jet for the road’

The Audi Grandsphere is one of various ‘sphere’ concept cars teased by the German luxury car maker.

Audi refers to it as a “private jet for the road.”

It is quite accurate to call it that, considering how the car looks from the outside and the inside.

The Audi Grandsphere also features Level 4 Autonomous driving, along with a few tricks of its own — which we’ll get to in a bit.

Audi Grandsphere

First revealed in 2021, the Audi Grandsphere is a concept car from the ‘sphere’ family of concept cars.

The German automaker designed the ultimate four-door futuristic luxury sedan.

It is very different from the Audi Skysphere, which reimagines what a future luxury sportscar could look like.

When viewed from the front, it looks like a conventional luxury car.

However, looks can be deceiving as the Audi Grandsphere comes with giant doors that open in opposite directions revealing the posh interior.

These doors can also be automatically opened as the car detects your presence.

Beautiful interior

Inside the Audi Grandsphere, you will see two fancy posh seats up front with armchairs.

There’s also a wraparound wooden dash that’s made from recycled materials which has all your infotainment system projected onto it.

It is not the only car to have a lavish interior like this, as the Audi Urbansphere also features a similar design.

One of the most special things about this car is that you can transform the dashboard at the push of a button.

The steering wheel, column, and pedals are retracted to create a massive open space and the car enters ‘Lounge Mode.’

In this mode, the car can drive itself while the passengers can enjoy a movie and relax.

The Grandsphere is Audi’s vision of what the future of the A8 is going to be.

So it is likely that we will see a similar EV car serving as the flagship A8’s successor in the full-size luxury sedan category.
