Bernie Ecclestone is well known as the Godfather of Formula 1, and his car collection includes some of the most iconic F1 cars ever made.

However, he is now selling his prized collection featuring 69 cars spanning nearly seven decades of F1 history.

It is probably also one of the most valued car collections in the world with each car being in the million or multi-million dollar range.

Some of these race cars have been driven by the likes of Ascari, Moss, Lauda, Piquet, Senna, and Schumacher.

The Bernie Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection seems like the pinnacle of privately owned F1 cars.

“I have been collecting these cars for more than 50 years, and I have only ever bought the best of any example,” said Ecclestone.

The entire collection also features world championship-winning cars driven by famous F1 race car drivers.

“Whilst many other collectors over the years have opted for sports cars, my passion has always been for Grand Prix and Formula 1 cars,” he added.

Although we have seen car collections with rare F1 cars, this is on another scale.

“A Grand Prix and in particular a Formula One car is far more important than any road car or other form of race car, as it is the pinnacle of the sport, and all the cars I have bought over the years have fantastic race histories and are rare works of art,” added Ecclestone.

Most valuable F1 car collection

Handled by former racer and car dealer Tom Hartley Junior, the collection will be sold individually and not as a lot.

With each car in the million or multi-million range, it is easily one of the most valuable F1 car collections in the world.

Hartley Junior says there are several eight-figure cars in the collection, just like this Bugatti Chiron.

According to him, the total value of the collection is ‘well into the hundreds of millions.’
