A father and son stepped back in time to discover a 1986 DeLorean hidden away in a Wisconsin barn, looking like Marty and Doc themselves had abandoned it.

It last saw the light of day almost 40 years ago and as it left the barn it had been residing in for so long, it looked worse for wear.

After a thorough clean, it started to come back to life.

The car is now ready for its next adventure back through time.

Hey Marty and Doc – you forgot your DeLorean!

Popular car YouTube channel Not Normal Nick posted a video in which him and his dad found a 1986 DeLorean that had been left to rust in a barn in rural Wisconsin.

The car had not seen the light of day in almost 40 years and was covered in a thick layer of dust and grime. The handle was broken and had to be prised open using pliers.

Once they had the door open, it was like a time capsule to the eighties and Nick and his dad saw a lot of promise in the dusty car.

There’s nothing like a DeLorean to help you get nostalgic about Back to the Future.

They freed the DeLorean from its barn and set about returning it back to its time-travelling glory.

Back to the future

The duo brought the vintage car back to their workshop to get a look at the damage that almost forty years of neglect had done.

Nick and his dad began the restoration with a thorough dusting, and after this, the shiny silver car began to show its true colors.

The DeLorean is the pair’s third, but Nick describes it as a ‘must’, and even though they didn’t need a trio, they couldn’t resist.

This isn’t the first time someone has tried to bring an old DeLorean back from the dead after years of disuse.

Hey, someone should let Marty and Doc know that their ride is here.
