2022 has already given us a lot. From the masterpiece that is Elden Ring, to the return of the ultimate racing experience with Gran Turismo 7, there has been plenty to keep gamers satisfied.
But the year is far from over and there’s still a lot to look forward to.
These are the top 7 new games that you absolutely can’t miss in 2022.
Ghostwire Tokyo
The first game that should already be on your calendar is Ghostwire Tokyo. This new supernatural adventure from the creators of The Evil Within looks set to offer a unique story set in the Japanese capital.
Your adventure will begin at Shibuya’s world-famous pedestrian crossing where a range of paranormal events begin to take hold of the city.
You’ll play as Akita who is the sole human survivor of a mass disappearance leaving only a truly bizarre selection of enemies on the streets of Tokyo. Thankfully, Akita has gained supernatural abilities that will help him survive the journey through the city.
Release date: 25 March 2022

Saints Row
Nine years on from the release of Saints Row 4 and we’re finally getting a new entry in the chaotic open-world series.
Given the time travelling alien invasion ending of Saint Row 4, a sequel wasn’t an option so the new game is a complete reboot of the series.
It will have all the insanity you’d expect from the original, in an all-new launch. We can’t wait for the chaos to begin later this year.
Release date: 23 August 2022
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, PC
Starfield
Starfield is the latest creation from the team behind Fallout and The Elder Scrolls so it’s fair to say expectations are high for this new adventure.
The game is set about 300 years in the future, just after the end of a bloody colony war between the two largest factions in the solar system.
There are still a lot of unknowns about the world of Starfield but the fact that it’s been described as “Skyrim in space” is enough to get us excited.
Release date: 11 November 2022
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2
The first Breath of the Wild was one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch when it launched in 2017 and now we’re due to get a sequel later this year.
The sequel looks to build on the successful formula of the first game, but Nintendo has remained tight-lipped on exactly what to expect.
So for the time being, fans will just have to piece together the details that can be found in the short teaser trailer.

Hogwarts Legacy
Harry Potter is one of the most successful book and movie series ever released and now the school of wizardry is making its way to games consoles.

God of War Ragnarok
God of War was one of the best games on the PlayStation 4, with unique characters and a world full of secrets to discover. The thing that made this game memorable was the relationship between Kratos and his son, both of whom are returning for the sequel.
The story is set to follow on from the end of the previous game and we’ve been promised new enemies, weapons, and abilities to unlock during the new adventure.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Another movie making the transition to video games is Avatar with this new action-adventure game from Ubisoft.
You’ll be exploring a stunning recreation of Pandora, which arguably looks even more beautiful than the original 2009 movie.
You will play as Na’vi in this new standalone story as you embark on a journey across the gorgeous, but dangerous, Western Frontier.
