The $1.3 million McLaren P1 that washed up on a toilet seat after Hurricane Ian is now off to the junk yard.
Video footage posted by its owner Ernie shows it being rigged up ready to be dragged away.
It’s a worst-case scenario ending to the story, but it’s not all bad news for the Floridian owner.

Just two days after Ernie posted a photo of his waterlogged P1, he took to the gram to reveal he had replaced it with a $2.25 million McLaren Speedtail.
Ernie asked his Instagram followers, which have now swelled to over a million, what they thought of his new Speedtail.
His post garnered more than a thousand comments from people who were equal parts shocked and in awe of the $2.25 million turnabout.

“Oh you rich rich,” one person said.
“Remember there’s only 100 of these unlike the P1 where they made around 300. And this one has a tail it can probably use underwater too,” another said.
They’re not wrong, because when it comes to hypercars, the McLaren Speedtail is right up there.

Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo with an electric motor, the Speedtail can churn out 1,035 hp.
It goes from 0-100km/h in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 402km/h (250 mph).
And it has a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
But even if you’ve got a spare $2.25 mill to drop, you can’t just walk in and buy a Speedtail because it’s extremely limited.
McLaren has limited production to just 106 examples.
So, while losing a $1.3 million McLaren P1 to Hurricane Ian is a devastating event, it’s hard to feel too sorry for our friend Ernie.
Especially when he’s grieving the loss of his P1 over a succulent lamb chop.
