Tesla and the Musk empire, for better or for worse, consistently push the boundaries of technology, and it comes as no surprise that the Tesla camera for the Model X is now the next piece of kit to revolt the industry norms.
Since photography existed, dating back to the 1920s, a picture has always spoken a thousand words.
But, the Tesla camera is being hailed as a lens that goes above and beyond.
One owner now claims that the built-in Tesla camera in the Model X takes pictures and videos that are ‘worth a couple of gazillion words’.

Tesla camera captures incredible footage quality
In a world where technology is physically driving us around and parking our cars for us, the usage of dash cams and on-board cameras have become paramount.
One Tesla owner has proved that the Model X is one of the best cars in the business for this measure, even if it does come as a double-edged sword.
The spaceship-like Model X has a built-in interior camera that captures the footage of the driver and passengers, and one owner claims it’s truly ground-breaking.
“If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must be good for a couple gazillions,” the Model X owner said in a thread on X (previously Twitter).
The camera catches all four passenger seats, picks up clear images from outside of the car through the rear and side windows, and maintains high frame rates to capture movement in videos.
The hitch is that if you’re a pesky nosepicker, well, now you’re getting caught in 4K – or gazillionK if that’s a thing.
The Tesla camera catches its drivers’ every move on camera, so just be warned that you’re being watched.

With all the debates about how suitable @Tesla cabin cam for driver monitoring, I will let you form your own opinion.

Tesla owner finds neat hack to avoid Model X camera focus
As always with these tech advances, the robots will never win, and the Tesla camera is no different.
Later in the thread, the Model X owner showcases that you can hide the face of the driver with the visor, which throws up a moral question.
That does seem to be the only workaround though, as the camera continues its impressive capture through the night, using its 36fps and full RGB lighting to take advantage of any streetlighting to keep the picture crystal clear.

The Tesla cameras have proved to be quite the revelation for drivers, given that its at-rest “Sentry mode” has saved owners thousands of dollars by catching perpetrators of crashes and scratches when the car is idle.
