A Tesla insider says a date has officially been set for the Cybertruck’s Delivery Event.

In fact, the company has reportedly already started sending invites to Tesla owners and Cybertruck buyers.

Let’s start with the facts: a Cybertruck Delivery Event is happening.

According to the email sent out to Tesla owners, the (first) Cybertruck Delivery Event will take place at Giga Texas, the company’s main factory in Austin.

While a date wasn’t mentioned on the invite, the insider says a date has been set and will be revealed in the near future.

We certainly hope so, and we’re willing to bet the two million people who ordered a Cybertruck must be particularly eager to find out more.

And yep, you read that right.

Musk says Tesla has received over two million pre-orders for the Cybertruck.

To be fair, this isn’t particularly difficult to believe since all it takes to order the truck is a fully refundable deposit of just $100.

In terms of power, the Cybertruck will be available with a tri-motor option.

Despite the Cybertruck’s massive weight (at least 5,500 pounds or 2,500 kg), the tri-motor Performance version should still be able to reach 60 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in four seconds or less.

Musk being Musk, he described the Performance version of the Cybertruck “kick-a*s”.

Tesla first unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019 and Musk said it would cost $40,000.

That’s no longer the case as Musk himself confirmed the Cybertruck will cost a bit more than that, but he hasn’t actually given a new estimate yet.
