A Tesla Cybertruck and C4 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport competed in a spectator single-lap circle race and the result was quite shocking.

The EV pickup truck might be good in a straight-line race but how does it perform if you throw some curves in its way?

In this race, we see the Cybertruck going against a 28-year-old C4 Corvette.

Let’s take a look at how it fares under these circumstances.

Tesla Cybertruck races against a C4 Chevy Corvette

The race took place in Dacono, Colorado at the state’s National Speedway.

Although we have seen the Cybertruck beat a Lamborghini Aventador in a street race, the circumstances were quite different.

In the video taken by a spectator, we can see the truck lining up against a 1996 C4 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport with blue livery and iconic white racing stripes.

Statistically, the Cybertruck should have the upper hand here as it produces 845 horsepower.

Compared to that, the Corvette only produces 330 horsepower.

If that wasn’t enough, the Cybertruck is on the inner side of the circle track, which means it will have to cover less distance.

While the Corvette will have to cover more ground at a faster speed to keep up.

However, the circle track is quite small with tighter corners.

Although the Cybertruck might be able to beat a Porsche 911 Turbo S in a drag race, it won’t win this race without proper handling.

Once the race starts, the EV immediately gains a lot of distance between the two cars.

Driving skills matter

However, right at the turn, the Cybertruck driver has to brake to be in the inner circle.

This costs the EV some speed and the Corvette is easily able to catch up.

At the next corner, the driver doesn’t step on the brakes.

The Corvette is easily able to take advantage of the gap to overtake the Cybertruck.

The moral of the story is that in racing specs aren’t everything, a driver’s skill is what matters the most.
