It’s hard to think of another new vehicle that evokes attention quite like the Tesla Cybertruck.
That’s largely in part due to its angular, boxy frame which looks like it’s straight out of a sci-fi movie.
But while many find it cool, an equal amount find it cringe, with a new image surfacing online getting mercilessly mocked.

With the imminent arrival of the long-awaited Cybertruck, we’re seeing more appearing on the road – and for the first time, we’re seeing what it might look to drive behind one.
So, what are people saying?
The hotly-anticipated EV pickup has been called everything from a dumpster to a massive printer.
Basically, there’s plenty of things people seem to think it resembles, but none of them are a car.
Reddit has been a hotbed of mockery, after an image was shared to the r/Mildlyinteresting page.
That’s where people have compared the Tesla Cybertruck to a dumpster, a VHS recorder, a refrigerator, and much more.

Then citizens of Elon Musk’s own platform X joined in on the action, resulting in the EV pickup receiving more ridicule.
“Looks like a VHS tape rewinder you find at a garage sale,” one X user joked.
“Everyone is asking how I came up with the idea for this car. It all started when I was at a store and saw two dishwashers side by side,” another mocked.
“Yeah sorry I’m stuck in traffic behind a chest freezer,” a third posted.

It was a similar story over on Reddit, where users were less than complimentary about the Tesla Cybertruck’s design.
“I have no idea what I expected it to look like from behind, but this is definitely worse,” one user commented.
“Five decades of sci-fi illustrations depicting futuristic vehicles and this is what we got? Pathetic,” another said.
To be fair, the backlash is the latest in a series of design setbacks the Tesla Cybertruck has faced.
From concerns about the EV pickup’s weight to a single wiper so large it could be used as a weapon, and even questions as to whether the EV’s garage friendly, it’s not had an easy road to, er, the road.
