The owner of this Tesla Model S, with over 250,000 miles on the clock, revealed the battery capacity after all those years.

When he bought the car, the Model S had already covered 250,000+ miles in nine years.

Even so, the battery capacity was still more than acceptable.

There are people with iPhone 15s bought just over a year ago that are faring worse than that.

The battery capacity of this Tesla Model S after all these years

In a video shared by The Independent, this Tesla owner, Steve Fowler, said his Model S P90D, a model that’s no longer in production, still shows an 84 percent battery capacity after nine years and 250,000 miles.

That’s pretty good for a car that has already covered a quarter of a million miles.

It feels a bit strange to say this but, in today’s car world, the battery capacity of an electric vehicle is the prime indicator of the car’s condition.

EVs have fewer moving parts, and apart from components that all vehicles share such as tires and brakes, nothing is as important as the car’s battery capacity.

Can EVs be just as durable as internal combustion cars?

Obviously, we know that gas cars are capable of covering incredible distances.

One Greek taxi driver racked up an astonishing three million miles over the course of 23 years, whilst a Canadian cabbie hit 1.6 million over 35 years.

But electric vehicles have been around for a while now, and we’re also beginning to see more examples of EV longevity.

There’s a man in Germany who’s driven his Tesla Model S for over 1.2 million miles and counting.

Meanwhile, a man in Slovakia owns a Model X with over 200,000 miles on the clock and, just like von Gemmingen-Hornberg’s Tesla, his car looks as good as new.

There’s a famous Volvo P1800 that set a record that’s unlikely to be beaten, having covered 3.2 million miles with the same owner.

At this rate, an EV might eventually claim that record.
