This is the IAT T-Mad, a Tesla Cybertruck look-alike from China.

It is absolutely massive and the electric range is actually impressive: over 600 miles.

Unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, the T-Mad is roughly the same length as the Cybertruck (5.8m) but is taller and wider.

Then again, the production version of the Cybertruck is not here yet, so we can only use the prototype for comparison.

More importantly, the entry-level T-Mad will cover 497 miles (800 km) on a charge.

Meanwhile, the range-topping (pun intended) model is expected to have a range of 621 miles – or 1,000 km.

The weirdest thing about the T-Mad is the seating arrangement because it has three rows but only four seats.

The driver sits at the front, in a central position, and right behind the driver are two additional individual (rotating) seats.

And then lastly, you’ve got a bench-like seat located at the back.

And by the way the driver’s seat can swivel, too.

We’re going to go out on a limb here and assume this is because a self-driving option will be available at some point.

Details are scarce, but the final production version is expected sometime next year.

You can expect a short-range and a long-range model, with prices under $70,000.

The T-Mad will realistically compete with the Tesla Cybertruck in China but, as you can imagine, it won’t be sold in the US.

About the Tesla Cybertruck

The Cybertruck was first unveiled in 2019 but production has been pushed back several times since.

According to Tesla, the entry-level RWD model starts at $39,900, while the AWD model starts at $49,900.

Tesla says the Tri Motor AWD Cybertruck can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and tow up to 14,000 lb (6.4 t).
