Tesla Cybertruck battery capacity leaks amid range speculation

The Cybertruck is finally available at showrooms across the US and people are flooding the internet with images and videos.

Crucially, one of these videos reveals important information regarding the Cybertruck’s battery capacity.

After a recent trip to the Tesla showroom in San Diego, YouTuber Tailosive EV revealed some juicy information.

According to the YouTuber, the Cybertruck will be available with a battery capacity of 123 kWh.

We should point out that these aren’t his words – these are the words of the showroom’s manager.

We’re going to go ahead and assume the information is accurate since we have no reason to assume the manager or the YouTuber lied about it.

Or maybe this is just wishful thinking.

Still, we’ll find out soon enough.

On November 30, the Cybertruck will be finally unveiled to the public, and delivered to 10 lucky buyers, at Giga Texas during the long-awaited ‘Delivery Event‘.

If confirmed, a 123 kWh battery pack would put the Cybertruck slightly behind the Rivian truck.

The Rivian R1T is available with a 105 kWh battery pack, a 135 kWh and even a 180 kWh.

In terms of range, the best-performing Rivian R1T offers 410 miles (660 km).

Meanwhile, Elon Musk said the Cybertruck will be able to travel up to 500 miles (800 km) between charges.

It sounds perhaps a bit optimistic, but we’re presuming this is something else that’ll be addressed during the event.
