Heineken has just made a beer specifically for the Metaverse

The metaverse is a trillion-dollar industry in its infancy and global companies are naturally eager to get a piece of the pie.

Heineken, for example, has just developed a new beer and a tap room called ‘Silver’, specifically designed for the metaverse, and it will also turn former French footballer and brand ambassador Thierry Henry into an NFT so that other users can hang out and have beer with the champ.

This is probably going to sound a bit surreal to some people but Heineken also created a new type of virtual hop (they wrote the code for it) called A-Pixel, allowing players in the metaverse to cultivate the hops and brew the beer.

Both major multi-national companies and celebrities including Snoop Dogg are digitalising themselves and their products for the metaverse, which essentially combines virtual reality with blockchain technology.

Heineken kick-started the trend, but we can safely expect other major beer producers to follow suit.
