Mark Zuckerberg announces new AI with feature that will set it aside from the rest

Meta has unveiled its latest AI chatbots and they’re wildly futuristic.

Have you ever wanted to be guided through an online game with Snoop Dogg as your dungeon master?

Or wanted to be roasted by Mr Beast? Good news: These niche but totally valid dreams are now a reality.

At its Connect developer conference, the tech company announced a series of developments to the Metaverse.

Alongside smart glasses and a new VR headset, the company launched an AI assistant as well as a number of artificial intelligence chatbots.

Its AI assistant, Meta AI, will be available across their Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp platforms.

Users will be able to ask it questions and the bot will use Bing to provide answers.

It will also be able to generate AI images.

Besides the assistant, Meta is introducing 28 chatbot ‘characters’ to provide information in a playful way.

“This isn’t just going to be about answering queries,” Mark Zuckerberg said.

“This is about entertainment and about helping you do things to connect with the people around you, helping you accomplish the things that you want.”

Meta wants AI to reach people who haven’t used it before, including a younger audience.

These chatbots each have unique interests and skills.

One specializes in language and is ready to write a speech for you or go over your cover letter.

Another is a foodie who will write personalised recipes for you.

Perhaps most excitingly, a number of celebrities have loaned their voices and personalities to the chatbots.

Kendall Jenner voices Billie, a bot who acts like a big sister and offers advice.

Meanwhile, basketball player Dwayne Wade gave his voice to a bot that generates personalized workouts for you.

These chatbots will be rolled out in the next few days.
