McLaren is teaming up with one of the largest aerospace corporations in the US to give us supercars that look like figher jets.

The corporation in question is Lockheed Martin, the same company that gave us the Darkstar jet from the Top Gun film.

It’s a partnership made in heaven.

We didn’t see it coming but we’re certainly glad it’s happening.

The amazing pictures you see here give us an idea of what future Lockheed McLarens could look like.

VÉRIFIEZ CELA !

They were taken outside the Skunk Works HQ in Palmsdale, California.

Skunk Works is basically Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs division.

McLaren brought along the Artura, the company’s first hybrid.

Meanwhile Lockheed Martin brought along the Darkstar, a hypersonic concept aircraft that featured in the movie Top Gun: Maverick.

McLaren teams up with Top Gun jet maker while the world’s largest 1905 steam tractor gets rebuilt. These stories showcase transportation innovation and the enduring appeal of classic machinery.

The Artura that McLaren brought along is ‘murdered out’ and gorgeous.

Everything from the wheels to the carbon components and the body panels is painted black.

The interior is upholstered using a combination of black leather and Alcantara.

In fact you’d be hard-pressed to find elements of the car that aren’t black.

There’s still a lot we don’t know because both companies are keeping details under wraps.

But we can always speculate, right?

So the first question we’d like to ask is, “would a Lockheed Martin McLaren be faster than a standard one?”

The second question, which is more rethorical, is “would it be more expensive?”

Automakers regularly team up with companies outside the automotive space.

However, collabs between supercar makers and aerospace companies are incredibly rare.

Next up, might we suggest Ferrari x Boeing and Lamborghini x Embraer?
