Rivian CEO, Robert Joseph ‘RJ’ Scaringe, has revealed that the EV brand will launch hands-free driving very soon.
EV technology has been getting extremely advanced, with American companies like Tesla and Rivian leading the way.
But Rivian appears to be readying its latest feature with hands-free driving in 2025.
In fact, the tech feature is just ‘weeks’ away.

Rivian set to launch hands-free driving this year
Rivian has become quite the popular alternative to Telsa in America, with the R1T having gone toe-to-toe with creations like the Cybertruck.
While Tesla’s flagship sci-fi pickup truck has made waves, many users who have tried both cars have ended up keeping the Rivian, including YouTube star Marques ‘MKBHD’ Brownlee.
In a bid to overtake its competitors, Rivian is now on a full-throttle straight towards releasing hands-free driving, and the finish line is just weeks away.

In a recent quarterly earnings call, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe claimed that a hands-free driver-assistance system was coming to its vehicles very soon.
“We have a hands-off highway feature that we’re going to be launching here very soon, within the next several weeks,” Scaringe said.
The technology has already been adopted by Ford and General Motors, in their respective BlueCruise and Super Cruise cars.
The assistance doesn’t stop there
While hands-free driving appears to be on the horizon for Rivian, the electric car manufacturer is adding even more hidden features to its cars.
One is ‘eyes-off technology’, upping the ante by taking your hands away from the wheel.
“We have an eyes-off feature that we’re going to be launching for highway functionality in 2026,” Scaringe added in the call.

The details of how this will work are yet to be revealed, but it appears even more advanced AI driving is coming to American highways.
Alex Hirschi – aka Supercar Blondie herself – has already been left stunned by Rivian technology, and the brand could soon become the industry leader in electric vehicles, despite a dip in earnings through 2024 Q4.
