The Tesla Cybertruck might look like something from science fiction, but its running costs are surprisingly realistic.

We know this because an owner recently shared a review after owning the truck for a year, and the numbers stack up pretty favorably.

Despite its massive size, charging the Cybertruck turned out to be much cheaper than expected.

This review gives us a clear idea of how much money you can actually save by driving an electric truck.

Owner shares the surprising cost of charging the Tesla Cybertruck

TikTok creator Joe Fay shared his experience and broke down the numbers for us.

Over the past year, he spent only $436 to charge his Cybertruck. This saved him around $2,573 compared to what he would have spent on gas for a regular truck.

He used a total of 6,689kWh of electricity to keep the truck running.

A full charge of the Cybertruck’s 126kWh battery cost him just $8.22, giving an estimated range of 340 miles.

In comparison, a regular gas truck can only go about 50 miles for the same amount of money.

This makes the Cybertruck much more efficient when it comes to running costs.

This is not the first time that the running costs of Tesla vehicles have surprised its drivers. Earlier, a woman shared the incredibly low cost of driving the Tesla Model 3.

Similarly, a Tesla Model Y user revealed the low expense of running the car for 4 years for 45k miles.

The EV truck was criticized despite its low running cost

Tesla vehicles also impress us with their amazing Supercharger network that comes in handy on long trips.

Then comes the low maintenance costs compared to the gas trucks, meaning, fewer trips to the mechanic.

However, the Tesla truck’s price is a big factor to consider as it doesn’t come cheap.

That said, when you look at its features like the drive-by-wire technology or the Beast Mode feature, the cost might make sense.

Strangely, some viewers still criticized the Tesla Cybertruck despite Joe throwing the facts about its low running costs.

You can’t please everyone, right?

In the end, it’s clear that the Cybertruck brings a lot to the table for those who can afford it.
