Tesla has unveiled a new feature for its Supercharger that will be a massive help for those who use their EV for towing trailers.

The new feature is part of the software version 2024.44.1 update, which has just rolled out.

It will make things much easier for folks who use their EVs to tow trailers.

It’s also incredibly simple to use, which is always a bonus, isn’t it?

Tesla has introduced a new neat Supercharger navigation tool

Tesla regularly makes updates and improvements to its vehicles, such as the hotly-anticipated Apple Watch app and the new stand-alone charge port heater function

Now the EV-maker has a treat in store for those who use their cars to tow vehicles thanks to its new Supercharger gamechanger.

Folks who do use their EV for towing will know how annoying it can be to pull into a Supercharger and realize there’s no pull-through lane.

In that instance, the driver would need to stop, detach their trailer, and then drive the trailer-less vehicle up to the charging spot before they could plug it in.

However, Tesla has now unveiled a neat navigation tool that will let you know which nearby Superchargers have pull-through lanes for trailers.

Smart, right?

The new feature is welcome news to some motorists

The Supercharger news was shared over on X, where it was quickly welcomed by Tesla owners.

“This is a good thing. Now we just need more trailer-friendly stalls,” said one.

“Great feature, especially with Cybertruck owners,” said another.

While a third said it was ‘amazing how charging keeps improving’.

Tesla has previously said it is planning on increasing the percentage of trailer-friendly Superchargers.

North American Charging Director Max de Zegher said last month that if the company can ‘add trailer-compatible stalls at a reasonable complexity and cost’, then they do.

So, it looks like it’s set to get a whole lot easier to use your EV for towing a trailer.
