Xpeng has already received a significant number of orders for its modular flying car.
The car isn’t available yet, but it will be soon, and thousands of people have already committed to buying one.
In a way, this reminds us of the sort of hype the Cybertruck generated all those years ago.
But the hype isn’t the only thing these two vehicles have in common.

Xpeng flying cars are taking the word by storm
Xpeng launched two flying cars, both marketed under a sub-division they call ‘Aeroht’.
The first car they launched was a vehicle that looks like a supercar but also has wings, while the other one is a modular car.
Xpeng has already completed various air certification tests for its vehicles, and it has already completed its first flight.
The number of countries where you can legally use flying cars in traffic is relatively small, but that’s just a matter of time.
It clearly didn’t deter people from placing well over 3,000 orders for the Xpeng Aeroht flying car.
Similarities between Xpeng’s Aeroht and the Cybertruck
Apart from the initial hype, and the fact they’re both powered by electric motors, the modular car and Cybertruck have a prominent design feature in common.
Land Aircraft Carrier, which is what Aeroht calls it, is an SUV with a trunk that’s big enough to accommodate an eVTOL.
But, once you open the trunk and remove the eVTOL, what you’re left with is a pick-up truck that looks seriously similar to Cybertruck.
In a way, you can’t even blame them.
Cybertruck created a new design language that’s difficult to ignore, and several companies are now drawing inspiration from it.
A Chinese automaker called Aitekx did the same with the RoboTruck, and we’re sure there’ll be more in the future.
