The official trailer for GTA 6 is set to be released in the next few days.

Luckily for the impatient amongst us, Redditors have been working overtime to uncover more clues and decipher leaks.

One user called Tobbelobben30 has discovered an exciting bit of news which has made fans even more excited for the game’s eventual release.

According to his findings, Rockstar Games has patented some revolutionary technology.

It’s called System and Method for Virtual Character Locomotion and was created by Tobias Kleanthous.

He’s used his expertise in AI, animation and gameplay to create an unmatched level of immersive and realistic gameplay.

Characters will react to their environment in ways we haven’t seen before.

Usually, characters will exhibit pre-designed animations when encountering various game scenarios.

In previous versions of GTA, these animations have been pretty impressive.

But Rockstar Games has taken them to the next level.

This patented technology rather uses multiple building blocks of animation than just one option.

So characters will move in far more dynamic and natural ways.

For the first time, a character’s movements will be uniquely fine-tuned according to multiple factors.

A character will walk differently when fatigued compared to when they are full of energy

And a fatigued character will perform differently if it’s been raining, or if it’s a particularly hot day, and so on.

Characters will be able to react to factors like injuries, the weather and energy levels.

This will make for a really organic experience.

Another way the leaks show this technology in action is seen in a clip of a police officer.

We see him hiding behind a series of walls, adjusting his height accordingly.

It seems NPCs will also use the technology and seem smarter because of it.

“It’s like having characters that can adapt to different situations, making the game world feel more real and thrilling,” Tobbelobben30 said.
