Heavily modified truck tried to take on shallow water crossing and failed with the driver wondering what went wrong

This driver was left puzzled after his heavily modified truck failed to handle a shallow water crossing.

Despite the size of his vehicle, he quickly became stuck and was forced to abandon the truck in the middle of the stream.

Not even the huge modified tires or new exhaust pipe made a difference.

Ultimately, he made a few clear mistakes and learned his lesson the hard way.

Stuck in the water crossing

In a video posted by RockyTV, the water looks fast-moving but not very deep.

Any standard off-roader or SUV could handle a body of water like this on on a normal day, but the driver makes some clear mistakes.

Firstly, he enters the water slowly, not keeping a strong consistent speed, causing the wheels more time to sink into the sand.

As the truck begins to sink, he decides to put the truck in reverse, burying the wheels deeper in the sand making it impossible to move.

And just like this abandoned Tesla that disappointed its new owner, the truck was stuck.

Were the heavy modifications worth it?

The truck is clearly well loved with a lot of money put into it.

Despite the new wheels being large enough to easily pass through the stream, it looks as if they were overinflated, reducing traction on the sandy bank.

If the wheels were a ‘beadlock style’, they could be easily inflated or deflated depending on the terrain, making this stream crossing a breeze.

There are a lot of interesting conversions and mods out there – take these two American YouTubers for example who upgraded a $2000 EV truck with a lift kit.

At the end of the video, the driver can be seen abandoning the vehicle, suggesting it needed to be rescued from the water.

This is not the first time that sand has claimed the wheels of an expensive vehicle.

In a rescue mission you’d usually only see on Comedy Central, a Ferrari California T needed to be saved from a Mumbai beach.

It was no normal rescue mission either, as it required bulls, yep the animals, to pull it to freedom.
