This incredible piece of footage shows the moment an Airbus A380 gets off the ground, and it looks like something out of this world.

The Airbus A380 – as you probably know – is absolutely massive, and therefore it’s pretty exhilarating to watch something that vast achieve flight.

After all, getting something that big off the floor takes a lot of power, and remains a fascinating feat of engineering.

This particular piece of footage was posted on Instagram account @speedbirdhq, who were obviously pretty excited watching the A380 take off, too.

They wrote: “What a rush to see this A3Fatty getting off the ground!”

The post went on to state that this particular craft was making the lengthy journey from Los Angeles’ LAX Airport to Dubai International Airport.

That’s a pretty long journey but, at the end of the day, it’s a routine trip for the Emirates A380.

Those who have watched the video were also queuing up to express their delight and awe at watching this behemoth of the skies.

“This is perfection,” wrote one commenter.

“Never ever get tired of watching that BIG A380 get off the ground,” said another.

A third person wrote: “Seeing this gigantic beast defying the gravity and goes up like nothing it is unbelievable. [sic]”

Of course, there are some seriously solid scientific principles behind how exactly the A380 manages to get airborne, but – you have to admit – it still looks like it can’t quite be real.

The Airbus A380 is the world’s biggest passenger plane, measuring 73 meters long, with a wingspan of almost 80 meters.

It can accommodate 520 passengers, with some of them taking up significantly more space in the luxurious first and business-class seats on board.

However, it’s far from the biggest plane out there.

That honor belongs to the Antonov AN-225, which is so vast that it makes the Boeing 747 – not a small plane – look like a model aircraft/

Then, there are cargo jets such as the Super Guppy, designed to carry rocket parts, and the proposed WindRunner, which will transport blades of wind turbines to previously unreachable locations.

None of them offer the luxury of the A380, which is why it’s a bucket-list aircraft for enthusiasts and luxury travelers everywhere.
