With Baselworld on indefinite hiatus, Geneva Watch Days has become the world’s most important watch fair.

The 2022 edition took place in Geneva from August 29 to September 3 and gave us a lot to talk about.

So, here are the hottest releases from this year’s Geneva Watch Days 2022.

5. Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori – $185,000

The Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori definitely qualifies as a statement piece.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Starting with the name, because Serpenti Seduttori is Italian for ‘seductive snakes‘.

The 34 mm tear drop-shaped case is made of white gold and covered with diamonds, as is the bracelet.

Bulgari decided to offset the dazzling white gold and diamond combo with the addition of spinels, a dark mineral that combines magnesium and aluminium.

To to top it all off, this is a tourbillon piece, and you can actually admire it through the little aperture located at the 6 o’clock.

It costs $185,000.

4. Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Bitcoin – $348,000

Jacob & Co used the Geneva Watch Days 2022 as a platform to introduce the Solar Bitcoin timepiece to a wider audience.

As the name suggets, the watch is a tribute to the world’s largest and most famous cryptocurrency.

The inner ring around the dial features several key words that crypto people will find familiar, including ‘blockchain’ and ‘peer to peer’.

In addition to that, you’ve got a miniature ‘B’ symbol and a little rocket.

The rocket is a nod to the unofficial motto of the crypto world ‘To The Moon’.

This term is often used to describe a cryptocurrency that is under a strong upward market trend.

Only 25 pieces available, priced at $348,000.

3. H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Vantablack – $119,000

The latest H Moser Streamliner is fitted with a red gold case and a black dial that doesn’t reflect light.

This is because it’s made using ‘Vantablack‘, a type of material that absorbs 99.965 percent of the light.

To top it all off, you’ve got a vibrant 40 mm case in red gold that nicely offsets the dark dial.

With a price tag of $119,000 you can’t call it cheap, but the watch world is mad so collectors will definitely look at this as a bargain.

H. Moser has been making waves in the watch space in recent years, and the brand is expanding the line-up with new iterations on a regular basis.

This is probably the craziest model yet, but then again H. Moser doesn’t really do boring.

A few years ago, the brand launched a $1m watch with a dial that’s literally made of cheese.

You can read more about it here.

2. Bulgari Aluminium Sorayama Special – $3,300

This is by far the cheapest watch on the list but it is also one of the most intriguing.

During Geneva Watch Days 2022, Bulgari introduced several new variants for the Octo Finissimo to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this particular model.

However, the company still found time to launch a cool collab for another one of its best-sellers: the Aluminium.

The name is an obvious reference to the type of material it’s made of but what really sets this piece apart is the dial.

It was designed in partnership with Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, and it features a bright and glossy dial with a diamond effect and only one numeral at the 2 o’clock.

An interesting choice.

It ‘only’ costs $3,300 but it’s limited to 1,000 pieces only.

1. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Royal Blue – POA

This is by far the most-hyped piece from the show.

Partly because it’s a Royal Oak and collectors fawn over anything and everything Audemars Piguet does.

But mostly because we’d never seen a Royal Oak in blue ceramic before.

The case and the bracelet are made entirely out of ceramic in a color that AP describes as ‘Royal Blue’.

To add to the hype and the mystery, AP has vowed to keep details are under wraps.

The price hasn’t been revealed and they haven’t said how many pieces they’ll produce.

You can find out everything you want to know about this piece here.
