A new autonomous robotaxi service backed by Bugatti Rimac is set to launch on June 26.

The new company named Verne, has been in the works for some time with Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac’s support.

The service will also launch a stylish hatchback for its services.

Bugatti Rimac robotaxi service — Verne

Bugatti Rimac’s robotaxi service, previously known as Project 3 Mobility has been confirmed to launch on June 26.

It will be unveiled during a special event at the Rimac Campus in Zagreb, Croatia.

Earlier this year, Rimac also teased the compact hatchback car designed for its service.

So the car won’t have the supercar-like design that Bugatti is known for — instead, it will be more practical.

Rimac also fooled everyone a few months ago by announcing a Yugo-inspired Rimac hot hatch, which kind of looks like the Verne hatchback car.

However, the service is expected to launch in Zagreb, Croatia this year.

After which, it will expand to the UK in the third quarter of 2025 and Germany by the end of next year.

The Bugatti Rimac robotaxis will be a ‘revolutionary vehicle built on a completely new platform designed around safety and comfort.’

Passengers will also be able to control the car’s infotainment system through a dedicated smartphone app.

However, there are already some robotaxi companies that are already in service.

In fact, even Tesla is planning to launch a similar service.

Tesla competitor

It seems Bugatti Rimac won’t be able to enjoy the limelight for quite long, since Elon Musk plans to launch the Tesla robotaxi on 8th August.

Just last month, Tesla also teased the autonomous robotaxi aka Cybercab in a video posted on their X account.

If Musk is able to make autonomous taxis mainstream like his EV cars, then we might see a new revolution in the automotive industry.

Musk is currently working on the fourth Tesla Master Plan, which could be highly dependent on this new venture.

But we will have to wait and see what both of these automakers have in store for us.
