This man just found an abandoned F1 car graveyard near his home

There’s a famous saying, ‘If something seems too good to be true, it probably is’.

A Facebook user found that out the hard way when they stumbled across an abandoned F1 car graveyard near their home.

With Michael Schumacher’s Benetton and the legendary Lotus 79 present, Julien Def thought he’d made the find of the century.

When he made the discovery near his house in France, he took to Facebook to post pictures of the cars.

The pictures showed five abandoned F1 cars kept on a trailer at an isolated location.

“Found this yesterday, not far from home,” he said.

“Caught me behind the bush… by the way they are up for sale.”

Apparently, the F1 cars were up for sale with a price tag of around $60,000.

At first glance, the cars look genuinely real – especially the all-black Lotus 79 and Michael Schumacher’s B195 finished in blue.

They even have the original decals and brand sponsors on their bodies making them look even more genuine.

But unfortunately, they’re not.

It turns out the cars weren’t real F1 cars and they were never used for an official race.

They were actually the product of a French company called Team Les Galapaits, who built the F1 replicas for teenagers.

Instead of having an actual V10 F1 engine, they were installed with 2CV motorbike engines.

According to the user online, they were used in Circuit Pierre Monnier in Grenoble, France.

If you were thinking of snapping them up, you’re out of luck.

A later online update by another user confirmed that all the F1 cars have now been sold.

Hopefully the person(s) who bought them go to the trouble of bringing them back to life.

Just like the old Ferrari F1 car that was abandoned and left to rot but was then given a second chance at life.
