This ordinary-looking Chevy Silverado is actually the ultimate pickup as one savvy owner added a secret dump bed to their GMT800 truck.

Chevy Silverado trucks may have fallen down the pecking order at the hands of the Ford F-150.

But the tried-and-trusted pickup is still a fan favorite across America.

This Silverado is different though, as with a savvy hydraulics mod, one owner has given it a secret boost.

This GMT800 has an incredible dump bed mod

Since its original release, the Chevy Silverado has done incredibly well to reinvent itself.

It’s now cropping one of the leading EVs in 2025.

But the model has had a number of other standout cars over the decades, particularly the GMT800 variant.

If you were to head over to Facebook Marketplace, you’d see a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 GMT800 up for sale with over 98,000 miles on the clock.

But what originally appeared to be a staple pickup has a big secret.

Fitted with a hydraulic lift system, this Chevy transforms into a dump truck, making it perfect for anyone looking to cart around heavy loads and drop them off with ease.

The GMT800 is like many others in most of its specs.

It boasts the usual 6-liter V8 engine and rear wheel drive systems, as well as an unspectacular grey color scheme.

The dump bed, though, is quite a massive upgrade from its original state.

The truck is being sold for $9,500, which originally seems steep for a 98k-mile truck.

But given its $1,700 dump kit, the expense rolls off the back of its bed with as much ease as the loads that the next owner will be hauling.

Chevy has given its Silverado range a number of features that make owners ‘proud to be American‘ in recent months.

So we’ re sure this conversion would make the manufacturers proud.

And having defeated the Cybertruck in a battle of sheer power – and by that, we mean a good old-fashioned towing contest – the Silverado is on the march as a beloved pickup once again.

Now we need hydraulic lifts on them all.
