As the world’s leading EV manufacturer, Tesla has some of the fastest cars on the road, but which is the quickest?

The electric vehicle pioneer continues to be the best-selling company in the industry, beating out the likes of BYD and Volkswagen.

But while the Model Y dominates motorways, another Tesla is taking down some giants on the racetrack.

So, which Tesla model is the fastest?

Tesla Cybertruck (Cyberbeast) – 130MPH

The Cybertruck sneaks into the conversation about the fastest cars in the brand’s fleet. But that’s simply because the original Roadster is the only vehicle to be slower.

Still, getting behind the wheel of a Cybertruck – Cyberbeast edition – is still quite a thrill. It’s sensationally quick acceleration blisters through 60MPH in 2.68 seconds.

While acceleration is impressive, it quickly caps out at 130MPH.

Considering the top-spec Cybertruck is a whopping 6,843lbs, it’s frightening to see such a hunk of metal hurtle at that speed.

It can even keep up with a Lamborghini Revuelto in races.

Model X Plaid/AWD – 149MPH

The Model X was the first big statement from the company, literally. It’s bigger than both the Roadster and Model S that preceded it.

The emphasis was on being a luxurious SUV and flirting with supercar design thanks to its Star Wars-esque X-wing doors. But its base model wasn’t one of the fastest cars the brand ever produced.

However, thanks to AWD and Plaid upgrades, the Model X can still hold its own in the pace department, reaching 149MPH.

Model Y Performance – 155MPH

As the world’s best-selling car model in 2024, the Model Y finds the sweet spot between pace and comfort.

The car is notoriously well-built, and the Performance spec adds a lot of speed and power. An extra 104HP with the dual-motor AWD allows for an extra 20MPH from the base Model Y.

All in all, the 155MPH that the Model Y achieves is the Goldilocks number for Tesla.

Model 3 Performance – 163MPH

Despite being slightly older than the Model Y, the Model 3 Performance improves the base car significantly more than its successor.

At base value, the Model Y is quicker, but when looking at the Performance specs, it’s the Model 3 that overtakes it in the fastest cars list.

With an improvement from 125MPH up to 163MPH with its 500HP motor, the Model 3 Performance moves up to be the second fastest of the EV brand’s fleet.

The Fastest Tesla: Model S Plaid – 200MPH

The crowning jewel in the brand’s portfolio is the Model S Plaid.

With a huge focus on speed and power and serving as an experiment for future models, the Model S Plaid is one of the fastest cars in the world,

It’s definitely in the top five quickest EVs.

Capable of ‘hypercar speeds‘, the Model S Plaid has left many competitors in the dust in drag races, including the Corvette ZR1.

Its top speed of 200MPH and a 0-60 time of under two seconds make the Model S Plaid clear at the top of Tesla’s fastest cars list.

Bonus fastest cars from Tesla: 2026 Roadster – ‘Over 250MPH’

However, it might be time for the Model S Plaid to move over for a new king, as the upcoming Roadster revival is touted to be the quickest EV in the world.

Rumored to hit 60MPH in under a second, the brand claims the Roadster is capable of ‘over 250MPH.’

While we can’t crown the Roadster yet, it does seem that the EV future is fast.
