India now has its own version of the iconic Batmobile — a high-tech AI-powered smart robot car — which was created for a sci-fi movie, and we admit, it’s actually pretty stunning.

What’s more, Indian automaker Mahindra Auto went out of its way to lend a hand, so it’s not just a prop, but you can drive the robot car.

It even has a saucy virtual assistant that talks to you, but that’s limited to the film only.

Sci-fi robot car rolls out in style

The film, dubbed Kalki 2898 AD, was released on June 27 globally, but the studio has been teasing the car for a while now.

The robot car even has a name because why wouldn’t it?

It’s called ‘Bujji,’ and one of the lead actors owns it in the film.

Only recently, the makers of this AI-powered car took it out on the streets of India in several cities as part of a promotion campaign.

It’s not every day that you see cars straight out of a sci-fi movie on normal roads, so the crowds seemed to be excited.

Several videos showing the car being driven floated the internet recently, and it looks cool, to say the least.

You might instantly think of the Batmobile when you first look at it, but it’s somewhat more than that.

Put it this way — combine a James Bond car with Batman’s high-tech ride, and you get the Bujji robot car.

An automaker helped to make it driveable

The robot car would have been a prop because it was an ambitious project, and the film’s creator didn’t have help to make it the real thing.

That was until he reached out to Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of the Mahindra and Mahindra group on X.

Interestingly, Mahindra was happy to lend a team from his Mahindra Research Valley to work with the film’s creators.

After several months of work, they created the robot car, which several celebrities, including some local police officers, drove.

The robot car, despite its looks, is an EV with three wheels.

Two electric motors power the rear ‘spherical wheel’ and produce 125 bhp.

The number might not be exciting, but it’s a car from a movie in the end.
