Glickenhaus begins production of its center-seat supercar with deliveries to start in early 2025

New York-based carmaker Glickenhaus has finally begun production of its much-anticipated center-seat supercar series called the SCG 004.
The series includes the 004S and 004CS variants, and both use the same supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine making 650 horsepower.
What’s more, both of them are road-legal.
The automaker has been teasing this series for quite some time now, and now you can finally buy one.

Glickenhaus hits the pedal for the SCG 004
Glickenhaus — which is short for Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus — is an American firm that has been in the high-performance car business for a while.
Its most recent creation is the SCG 004 series, which initially came about as a concept a few years ago.
The series includes two variants — the 004S and the 004CS.
Both of these were developed on the track but are wholeheartedly street-legal.
They both also have a manual transmission, which is certainly a rare sight these days.
But the manual isn’t totally forgotten — the world’s most powerful manual car debuted not long ago.
The SCG 004’s most lucrative offering is perhaps the three-seater design that puts the driver in the middle with room for two passengers in the rear.
If anything, these machines would provide an authentic supercar cockpit experience.
Glickenhaus put in the same 6.2-liter V8 powerhouse in both machines that sends out 650 horsepower.
Moreover, the power is sent through a gated six-speed manual transmission.
Although it’s nowhere near the track-focused Rimac Nevera R, it fits in a slightly different league.
All the good parts
Since these are ‘track-focused’ road-legal cars, they also get some racing gear.
By that, we mean a carbon fiber monocoque body that you usually see in racing machines.
The 004S and the 004CS share most of the good stuff, so what’s the difference between them?
The latter is supposed to be closer to Glickenhaus’ now-retired World Endurance Championship (WEC) race car, the 004C.
Hence, the slight differences include an upgraded aero pack with a blown rear diffuser, a top-mount air scoop, and front-wheel louvers in the 004CS.
It further gets much sportier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with larger brakes to help them.
All things considered, any variant of the SCG 004 is a pretty cool-looking supercar.
Deliveries start in Q1 2025, but there hasn’t been a mention of how many will leave the factory.
