This GMC Sierra with gull-wing doors is available from Facebook Marketplace in California.
We’re not sure why it has gull-wing doors, maybe somebody watched too many episodes of Pimp My Ride?
But, to be fair, the job was done right and it all kind of works.
There’s another problem, though.

This GMC Sierra isn’t cheap
This 2017 GMC Sierra 3500HD in Denali spec, currently located in California, was put up for sale on Facebook Marketplace with a price tag that seems a bit too steep.
The seller is asking $65,000, which is a lot for an 8-year-old truck with 52,000 miles on the clock.
For reference, a brand-new 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali starts at around $75,000.

More importantly, the average market price for a 2017 model is a lot lower than $65,000.
You can find plenty of trucks in good condition from that year for around $40,000 or less.
Sure, other 2017 trucks wouldn’t have gull-wing doors. But we’re not sure this truck needs gull-wing doors in the first place.

Who invented gull-wing doors?
If we asked 100 random people to name a car with gull-wing doors, we’re fairly sure most would think of Lamborghini, because of course so many Lambo models use them.
Interestingly gull-wing doors were actually pioneered during the 1950s by Mercedes with the 300 SL.
Some people may not know this, probably because Mercedes has only used gull-wing doors on two other occasions, with the SLS AMG and the C111 concept.

Without getting too technical, ‘gull-wing door’ is now just a blanket term to refer to any car door that opens vertically.
The doors of McLaren cars, for example, aren’t gull-wings; they’re actually called ‘dihedral’.
But let’s be honest, unless the goal is to impress some friends at a pub quiz, no one would ever use ‘dihedral’ in a conversation in the real world.
And they probably wouldn’t add them to a 2017 GMC Sierra 3500HD, either.
