This Grand Theft Auto 4 remake trailer is absolutely wild, and people are going mad.

From the upgraded graphics to the soundtrack, it looks like a Hollywood movie.

Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA IV) was released 15 years ago but both Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive didn’t really do anything to mark the occasion.

No YouTube videos, no social posts, not even a press release or a statement on their respective websites.

This left a sour taste in people’s mouths because while GTA IV was not as popular (or commercially successful) as some of the other games, it’s considered a cult.

This probably explains why when this fan-made trailer for a potential GTA IV remake was uploaded to YouTube, people took to the comment section to express how they feel.

“[Some] people never beat GTA IV because they didn’t like the first few missions, but it has the best story, best driving, best physics,” one fan said.

“Honestly the GTA [game] that most deserves a remaster is GTA IV”, another user said.

“I love that 100 more times than [GTA 5]. That was good but I like GTA IV more. We need a GTA IV remake ASAP,” a third commenter wrote.

Inspired by the original trailer for the game, the clip was edited and remastered with Unreal Engine 5, a 3D tool for video game creators.

It features Niko Bellic, the protagonist of GTA IV, and it is set in Liberty City, which is Grand Theft Auto’s version of New York City.

Speaking of GTA cities, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in Vice City, marking the return to the Miami-inspired fictional city for the first time in over 20 years.

Vice City was the first city created for the GTA world, and it was introduced with the first-ever Grand Theft Auto video game in the 1990s.

It was then used again for the eponymous 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

We’re curious to find out what Vice City looks like with 2023 gaming technology, but unfortunately it looks like we’re going to have to wait a bit more for that as there’s (still) no release date for GTA 6.
