Shaquille O’Neal – Shaq as he’s better known – has cash to spare, that’s not exactly a secret.

But knowing that he spent $1.3 million on three Roll-Royces just because the salesman annoyed him?

That’s a whole new level of rich.

O’Neal is one of the most successful basketball players of all time, and his $400 million net worth is a testament to his achievements.

He’s been known to be generous with his money – spending thousands on food for the homeless.

But he can also flash his cash when he needs to prove a point.

Appearing on the podcast Drink Champs, he recalled the time a car salesman ticked him off.

The 52-year-old said: “I don’t wanna spend $400,000 for a car. So I’m like, ‘Hey man how much is this? Nah. How much is this one?’

“So finally the old guy says, ‘Yo man, you asked about all these cars, can you afford them?’

“Now I’m p***ed. I said, ‘What the f*** you just said to me?’

“So I buy three. That one, that one, and that one, and I want them dropped off. Move the seat back.”

You might be thinking ‘Okay, that might not be the most reserved use of money, but at least he has three Rolls-Royces to choose from!’

But that isn’t quite how it’s worked out.

“So I got 3 Rolls-Royces that I never drive. So there goes another million,” O’Neal admitted.

However, he has been known to give out the cars in the way of presents.

LeBron James was very lucky to be given one for his 25th birthday – further proof that O’Neal is very generous with his money.

O’Neal has been candid about his car troubles previously, admitting that he needs to have his Lamborghinis and Ferraris reworked so he can fit inside them.

This is presumably the only time the sports legend has ever wished he was shorter than 7’1″.
