In a rare barn find, a US student found two iconic 1980s supercars in her grandma’s garage — an untouched Lamborghini Countach and a Ferrari 308.

The 1981 Lamborghini Countach was covered in dust, but it could’ve been worth around half a million dollars in pristine condition.

The Ferrari 308 is not as rare but it can still fetch a good price depending on its condition.

So where did these cars come from?

Kid finds rare supercars in grandma’s garage

Both of these cars were found by a Reddit user ‘eriegin’ in 2018, who posted images of the supercars on the website.

“‘Despite the rust and dust, grandma’s 1981 Lamborghini Countach is the coolest,” says eriegin.

Many Reddit users flooded the post asking why her Grandma has two iconic 1980s supercars stored in her garage for two decades.

“My late Grandpa bought it for his exotic car rental business in 1989. But after insurance costs became too high for him to operate the company, he kept the car (and many others including the Ferrari 308 in front of the Lambo) outside and in leaky garages for 20+ years instead of selling them,” she explained.

According to the poster, she was a broke college student who knew nothing about cars.

So she wasn’t in the best position to restore them.

Untouched Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 308

According to the student, her grandmother was looking to move the vehicles on soon.

Although they were not for sale, she may be willing to accept offers.

However, some will have to spend a lot of money to restore the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 308.

Other than these two cars, there’s also a late 1930s MG T-Type convertible hidden in the background.

According to Eriegin, her grandparents once also owned a 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.

So kids be nice to your grandparents. You never know if you might get an iconic supercar out of it.
