Two men have been caught hiding in plain sight after allegedly slipping two stolen Lamborghinis through Wyoming.
Nobody wants to see their prize Lamborghinis stolen, but that was the fate of one rental garage.
Onyx Rentals reported that two of their Lamborghinis had been stolen, and the search was on to recover them.
But this was no Fast and Furious plot, and Wyoming Highway Patrol was on top of the situation much better than The Rock.

Stolen Lamborghinis caught trying to be smuggled in plain sight
There really are some solid contenders for the dumbest thieves of the year already, beating out 2024’s Ferrari scoopers.
It’s taken only a matter of days of the new year for someone to take the lead in the race for this accolade, as these stolen Lamborghinis hiding in plain sight didn’t fool anyone.
Valued at over $550,000 combined, a 2019 white Huracán Roadster and a 2015 green Aventador were recovered in Wyoming after being taken from a rental garage.
The supercars had their GPS systems shut off by the two drivers and were later spotted on the back of a tow truck.
In a statement on Facebook, the Wyoming Highway Patrol said, “Both vehicles had tracking devices on them and one was traveling over 100 mph.
“Rawlins Troopers were able to locate and safely stop both vehicles.
“The cars were seized and driver’s [sic] taken into custody.”
The Huracán Roadster (approximately valued at $234,000) reaches a top speed of 202mph, while the Aventador (roughly $320,000) can be pushed even quicker to 218mph, showing that both cars could have been incredibly dangerous if not caught when they were.
Wyoming officers arrest alleged Lamborghini thieves
According to TheWeekendDrive, Wyoming Court documents suggest that two perpetrators were arrested for this incident.
The documents explain that both Lamborghinis were rentals.
They were first flagged for speeding – exceeding 100mph on public highways – and it was soon revealed that they were stolen rental cars from Utah that shouldn’t be leaving the state.
Both cars were recovered in Wyoming and were stopped by WHP Trooper Steven Watson.
Both perpetrators face an ongoing case where the maximum sentence is 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The tow truck driver claimed to have no knowledge that the cars were stolen but was paid a hefty sum ($2,900) to get the cars through the border and onwards to a final destination of Colorado.
Thankfully, these cars were stopped before reaching Colorado and disappearing completely.
Even though they remain impounded while the case is ongoing, it’s much better than finding out your stolen Lamborghini is in Thailand, as one UK man did.
