Having always been told to get behind the wheel of a Sand Car, this YouTube car fanatic from Nebraska was left flabbergasted at his $50k Marketplace purchase.
For most car users, tarmac and gravel are where your journey starts and ends.
But this Nebeskran YouTuber pushes four wheels to the absolute limit in every upload, and now he’s moving offroad to the dunes.
After blindly buying a Sand Car for $50k on Marketplace, not knowing what to expect, its safe to say that he was completely blown away.

Few cars can handle the heat of the dunes. In fact, even those offroad beasts that you thought would be able to scorch through sand, like a Jeep Wrangler, often get stuck.
Unless you’re flat-out buying something like this ‘off-roading, dune-bashing demon’ of a Lamborghini LMXX2, you’re likely going to struggle.
That is unless you buy a Sand Car.
And that was exactly what YouTube legend Cleetus McFarland did in a recent upload.

Welcome to his 2009 Extreme Double Throw Down, built with an LS3 engine and a behemoth Whipple supercharger.
McFarland took his unseen beast out on the dunes but originally faced some trouble tuning it.
After some help from two local mechanics to tune the engine and refigure the suspension, the car was sent out to a rally among other Sand Cars, and gosh, this thing rips.
After a night fuelled by wheelies and offroad drags, McFarland was sold.

“It’s been a shocking thing for me because I am a die-hard side-by-side guy,” he said.
“This is a 2009 Sand Car and I definitely like doing it better than my side-by-side.
“The instant 700HP available and everything about it – it rides like a cloud – its just a lot better. Side-by-sides are amazing but this is just another level.”
The Sand Car was certainly a hit and proved to be even more successful than the off-road Corvette.
