The ORA Funky Cat is a car wanting to make an impression.
It’s cute, cheap, packed with cool tech, and packaged together with a seriously kooky name.
We recently got behind the wheel of the all-electric subcompact car to see if it’s as playful and fun as the name suggests.

ORA Funky Cat design
It’s definitely got a unique look about it, but we’re not sure if we’d call it ‘funky’.
There are hints of Mini and Volkswagen Beetle at the front, and shades of Fiat 500 about the rear.
CHECK THIS OUT!
It’s not shy either, with an elaborate headlight and taillight show when you unlock the car.
Oh, and fish that swim across the screens when you open the doors.
Step inside the ORA Funky Cat and it’s equally as quirky.
Interior
The high-spec ‘First Edition’ model on test came fully loaded with loads of tech on offer.
It has wireless phone charging, a range of cameras for parking, and twin 10.25-inch displays.
On the subject of the screens, they might not be huge, but they’re crisp, clear, and easy to use.
The integrated voice system picks a range of accents, too.
It’s covered in green leather and is remarkably spacious up front for a subcompact car.
Even taller adults will find plenty of head, leg and knee room, although three across the back is a tight squeeze.
And the trunk? Well, don’t make any plans to carry anything large back there.
ORA Funky Cat price
Pricing for the ORA Funky Cat starts at £31,995 in the UK, which equates to $38,897.
It also comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, while the battery has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Performance
Under the hood (feels strange saying that) is a single motor powering the front wheels with 171hp.
The 48kWh battery doesn’t provide the best range, but 193 miles (310km) shouldn’t be sniffed at.
From a standstill, the ORA Funky Cat will accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-60mph) in about 8.0 seconds and on to 160km/h (99mph).
Those figures aren’t anything to write home about, but the truth is it’s not that type of car.
It’s happiest when cruising around town with the suspension soaking up bumps in the road.
Light steering makes hopping in and out of parking spaces super easy, too.
ORA Funky Cat verdict
All-in-all, the ORA Funky Cat is a stylish and tech-filled EV.
It’s just a shame the battery range is what it is and that the trunk is on the small side, too.
